How to create a favicon

A favicon is the small icon in browser tabs, bookmarks, and mobile home screens. A crisp square mark makes your site easier to recognize — even when dozens of tabs are open.

Which sizes should you export?

Start with 32×32 and 180×180 for tabs and iOS. Add 192×192 and 512×512 for Android and PWA manifests. The 16×16 export still helps legacy clients and dense UI surfaces.

Icons vs. uploaded artwork

Use the built-in icon picker for simple brand marks, or upload your own square PNG, WebP, or SVG-derived artwork. Keep important details centered — corners get rounded on some platforms.

How to deploy the files

Host the PNGs on your domain and declare them in HTML with link rel icon tags plus apple-touch-icon and your web app manifest. After publishing, run our favicon checker to confirm crawlers see every file.
